Add feature to add relationships when registering or renewing a Scout

I’m requesting a feature in the online registration site for a parent to add additional relationships (other parents, guardians, grandparents, whatever) during registration. Simply something like name, email, and relationship so that other people are invited to create my.scouting.org accounts and are linked correctly to the Scout(s). I’m a new Cubmaster and with everything going on right now, I’m spending the most time trying to help parents navigate the online tools so that all the right people are linked to Scouts and getting Pack communications and can do membership renewals. This can be a lot simpler w/o impacting youth safety.

@ScottHussey - as there is nobody from the my.scouting.org or bascout.org sites on the forums it is best to make your request known to your local council and they can pass that on to the appropriate teams

Great idea, and I’m glad to see the suggestion from @Stephen_Hornak because your District Executive can pass that idea along. Please do share it. I completely feel your frustration about spending time on tech support when we should be Scouting. I dream of having an 800 number for Scouting America Customer Service.

Distrct Executives are typically not the right people to open tickets with Scouting America IT. In most Councils it is registrars or other support staff.

The only way I see Scouting America going back to direct support of members is if someone were to donate the significant amount of money needed to provide this support (multiple salaries) and designate it for that purpose.

In our council (NCAC), as a District Vice Chair for Membership, I don’t have direct access to our registrars. Everything goes through our D.E.’s, first. But I don’t know what happens after that! In this case, where it’s not a problem, but a suggestion, would that still be passed along using a ticket?

All requests to IT need a ticket opened with member care. I recommend writing the text you want in the ticket so the suggestion is received as you intend it.
