Adult Leader Account Not Showing Son

We have a Committee Member that now has two seperate BSA IDs. One is linked to a user name and the other is linked to the user name as the email. One she is connected to her Scout and the other is not. Both reference the same email address. Before moving forward, is it safe for them to delete the other account or because they both reference the same name and email will that mess up both? We want to make sure we keep active the one tied to her registered leaders account.
