What is the turn around time to get an application approved. Previous post required me to register with unit that our one female scout is registered with. This was to make sure her advancements went through.

It is all dependent on how long it takes the Charter Org Rep to approve the application. After that, it must wait for the Criminal Background Check coming back if you need an new one.
It can be very council-dependent, since different areas have different requirements. For example, my state has a number of background check and training requirements for adults working with youth that are in addition to the SYT and CBC requirements from Scouting America. Some places require those types of things to be done before applying, others have to refer you out for them after the application process starts. Your council registrar can give you the best estimate from the time point at which the COR approves the application for processing. Your unit leadership should be able to give you an estimate for how long your COR will take to review and approve the application.
It depends if it is an on-line application or paper application submitted to your Council for processing.
If on-line for a youth, it is not approved until one of the Key 3 (or Key Delegates) accepts it in Application Manager. Once that is done, they will appear on the roster after overnight system sync. If on-line for an adult, it is not approved until the COR accepts in Application Manager and the background check clears.
If paper application submitted to council - all the required information and signatures are needed and payment received. Then the registrar can manually process. For youth it takes the overnight system sync once processed. For adults once application is processed the background check tjhen needs to clear.
Turn around time for an online application -
- New adult registration - once the application is Pending Approval AND SYT is current =

A. COR or COR delegate reviews and considers approving it - this step varies from minutes to days to weeks.

B. Background check runs after COR approval - one overnight to two weeks, but normally 1-2 overnights.
- New / multiple youth application - once the application is Pending Approval = any Key 3 may approve, so minutes. The overnight sync will update the roster.
- Adult multiple registration - once the application is Pending Approval AND SYT is current = see A above. B does not apply, as the background check is already done. The overnight sync will update the roster.
Summary - can be as short as hours of one day plus an overnight, but the background check is opaque with no way to speed it up.
