ASM Unable to Access Unit-Level Features

Hi Team,

One of our ASMs (MID 13473178) is receiving the attached message any time he tries to access anything at the unit level in SB+. It directs him to clear his cache, which he has done several times, but the issue persists. Hoping you can help.

Thanks for your reply!

JS has logged in today and I have this additional info:

  • Log in to SB and SB+ is working and he can view the roster now
  • He can access individual scout accounts in Legacy as well as individual task-specific links that redirect him to SB+
  • However, he cannot access individual scout accounts in SB+
    • Anything that links to/through an individual user account, he cannot access
    • I made sure he is trying through the Troop profile mode (and not the parent/guardian profile mode)
    • Therefore, for him to be able to sign someone off, he must find them in the legacy SB roster, open their profile in Legacy SB (which works), then go through the links there to be able to sign anything off in SB+
    • For example, while in SB+ he cannot click on “Back to Youth’s Profile” in any profile (other than his younger brother’s to which he is connected as a guardian)

@JamieWaskey- what are the permission settings for this ASM

@JamieWaskey first - forget about Legacy - it should only even be touched for payment logs - everything is in SB+

The system is working as designed for his access as an ASM - if more is needed Key3 will need to take action and grant it. I suggest they look at the 2 links below

A major focus of the migration to Scoutbook Plus is to have positions mirror the positions shown in My.Scouting to ensure positions were reflected accurately in both platforms. The main purpose it to honor the guidance of our charter organizations and the positions they approve. Therefore, Scoutbook Plus does not use Legacy Scoutbook positions. Registered positions are used to provide base permissions. Some additional permissions can be added by the unit, however, there are restrictions on what can be given. Hi Donovan,

You mentioned we should do everything in SB+ now and to forget about Legacy…does this also include connecting Merit Badge Counsellors to Scouts? I found the tutorial page for SB+ and it’s saying we need to do this through Legacy (as well as a few other things). Or is there an updated tutorial page for SB+? MBCs and Payment logs are all that is left over in Legacy for the time being. Doing things like membership and sub unit changes in legacy can cause complications
