Is there a way to Bulk Start merit badges? Have received a printed list of scout badge selections before the summer camp week from the troop summer camp coordinator for the first time. Was hoping I could open the badges for the scouts to be able to track incomplete or missing results upon their return in ScoutBook. Campers often do not check for any errors until they do not see the expected badge for the COH. Scouts never have personally entered their Summer Camp merit badge information into their profiles. Previously the summer camp coordinator had all the records, nothing was in Scout Book and the coordinator checked with the camp over the course of a couple months for corrections and updates – a disadvantage for the Advancement Chair to know what was going on and if anything was amiss. Hoping to have a more coordinated approach with a list of intended badges pre-loaded. I don’t believe the new coordinator will have the time to do follow up alone.
@CindyCuster - there are a few approaches to this:
1 - pre-reqs - if the camp is requiring pre-reqs then you could use the bulk entry from the roster to enter the pre-reqs as completed.
2 - Upload from camp via the feature assistant if the camp uses tentaroo or black pug.
3 - Scout page - I added each merit badge with a note that they were for summer camp
Once the data is entered into Scoutbook, I have 2 reports I like for incomplete merit badges
- Reports: Advancement: Merit-Badge in Progress Report (generates list of requirements needed)
- Reports: Advancement: Scouts BSA History Report (includes list of completed requirements)
