The Calendar Invites are not holding any formatting.

This is what it looks like in the Edit / Add screen.

This is what it looks on the event information screen

This is what it looks like when the emails go out.

I understand National is working on a lot of things, however the quality of the tools being provided for units to communicate with is abysmal. Communications with parents and scouts is difficult enough, without having the challenges of tools that don’t work.

It **SHOULD NOT** be this difficult for a unit to communicate with their unit using Scoutbook+ for Calendar Invites and Email Messages.

One question I know will come up is whether the formatting shown in the first screen is generated via the native SB+ formatting tools or coming in via cut-and-paste from another editor. If it’s cut-and-paste, I suspect that’s already on the “to do” list, but we don’t know when or if it will be “done”. If it’s the native formatting, that might kick it up the importance queue, but I’m still not sure how quickly it will actually get done even then.

@DarrenFerlazzo - is suspect that you are doing a copy paste into the event description. I added a test event using the native format tools and this is my result:

That was native SB+ formatting and mostly type in. A few of the text elements were copied and pasted in, but I had reformatted the entire invite to get it to look the way I wanted it to.

Some elements were copied but most of it was type in SB+. However, as volunteers we don’t have time to constantly reinvent the wheel. There is a ton of useable information that should be able to easily be communicated to units. Whether it’s copying and pasting, embedding images, sharing links, or adding attachments, it should be easy for units to communicate—and just as easy for parents and Scouts to respond. These are everyday features we’re accustomed to using, and they make a real difference in keeping families informed and engaged.

I recognize that we’re all volunteers and that those helping on this board don’t control what National puts out. I sincerely appreciate everyone who takes the time to answer questions and help us work through these issues.

My hope is that this feedback can be passed along to National. Effective communication is essential to running a unit, and we need familiar, easy-to-use tools that support that work. Making communication easier would benefit our volunteers, parents, and Scouts.

@DarrenFerlazzo - I understand that but by doing a copy/paste you are introducing hidden format marks that conflict with the existing format tools. My suggestion is to do a calendar description without copy paste and see if it is any different. The built in formatting was something requested many years ago in legacy at least 8 year. I would stick with what is there and see if the results are better.
