Cannot create/enter activities

First time poster… The search didn’t yield anything I could find, so if it’s been covered and I missed it, please accept my apologies!

For several months, I have not been able to enter den/pack activities for our scouts. Coming off Webelos Weekend, I was going to enter their camping nights and hiking miles but to no avail… My “Activities” screen just shows the calendar and “No activities for this month.” I used to see “Create new activity” towards the top right but that no longer appears leaving me unable to enter respective activities. Reviewing my permissions with Pack admin on the roster, it shows under Activities that I am an Activity “Approver/Creator/Editor/Remover” but still having issues here…

Any insight or similar experience from anyone else? My CM and I have been head-scratching at this and would like to figure it out. Thanks in advance for any help!

@NicholasRivera The permissions scheme in Scoutbook Plus changed a few months ago. If you were a Pack Admin in Scoutbook (legacy), that does not carry over to Scoutbook Plus.

A major focus of the migration to Scoutbook Plus is to have positions mirror the positions shown in My.Scouting to ensure positions were reflected accurately in both platforms. The main purpose it to honor the guidance of our charter organizations and the positions they approve. Therefore, Scoutbook Plus does not use Legacy Scoutbook positions. Registered positions are used to provide base permissions. Some additional permissions can be added by the unit, however, there are restrictions on what can be given. See the updated Scoutbook_Permissions.pdf and the Scoutbook Plus permissions video for more details.

It sounds like you’re already familiar with this:

However, you only mentioned activity/logs permissions. To edit the calendar, you need the Calendar Editor permissions as well.

ETA: Apparently Jennifer and I read your post slightly differently. Since she can see parts of the back end as an SUAC volunteer, I’m inclined to defer to her reading. Just to clarify, though, do you have permissions set up under the new system that Jennifer and I mentioned, or only under the old classic Scoutbook system?

@NicholasRivera - make sure if you have activities permissions that you are on the leader profile in the upper right dropdown as I suspect you may be on a parent or other role.

@NicholasRivera as a Den Leader you should be able to make activities and calendar. Your Den assignment looks a little funny. I have time for a fast screenshare to take a look if you want.

That may be what’s going on I’d assume… We migrated away from legacy as soon as SB+ went online though. I still can’t figure why I used to be able to enter activities but no longer can. To my knowledge, my SB+ permissions haven’t changed other than being assigned to a second den but even my primary den wasn’t allowing me to enter activities.

I’m willing to give it a shot if you have the time. Just let me know… We are going through some pack hierarchy changes, but my permissions have been the same as they have for a while. I have a few extras if I recall as I’ve been split between a couple dens on occassion.

That has caught me before but not in this instance lol. Thanks for the help though… Sometimes I have to double check!

@NicholasRivera I will send you a direct message > look at top right Avatar to find it > it will be a green envelope > it will be a private message channel with select members of the Scoutbook User Advisory Council (SUAC)

@NicholasRivera this should be functioning now
