Cannot Overcome the "Relationship Verification Needed" Notice

When I log into Scoutbook to manage my two current scouts, I get prompts regarding my daughter’s account for “Relationship Verification Needed”. For some reason, she is associated with me but doesn’t have relationship pointers back to myself and her mother. (Albeit, when we log on to mom’s, she my daughter has mom listed as a relationship but not me).

Actions taken:

  • When following the directions on my account (her father), I attempt to add a relationship to her mother and it seems like it will work. It finds mom’s account. I hit save. Then I immediately get the following error:
    • Error /organizationGuid string [ ] does not match pattern [1]{8}-[0-9a-fA-F]{4}-[0-9a-fA-F]{4}-[0-9a-fA-F]{4}-[0-9a-fA-F]{12}$
      • Btw, this forum is auto converting the brackets above when I post it as is it. it should be ‘[‘ and ‘]’ back-to-back with NO space or text in between. it seems like the string it’s reference is either empty ““ or null. above, i added a space or two so the brackets would be visible.
  • I attempt to add myself as a relationship, but that is forbidden.
  • When following the directions on mom’s account, the system find my account just fine. When you click save, the same error above appears.

I would really really love to add our relationships OR deactivate her account until if/when he decides to participate again. Can anyone help me with this?

Well the first step is a person not in relationship cannot add relationships unless a leader. You can also not add relationships to yourself, It is better to have unit leaders do it for you.

Under this login with Member # %%%068 - you are father of NF and HN. AN you are not a parent of, your wife is there.

Either the unit Key3 or Council can help you get the right parent relationships setup. Or you could add your wife the FN and HN - and she could add you to AN

Alternatively, you might be able to remove your connection to AN in Scoutbook (legacy). Not sure if that would work or not, because the Scout is not currently registered.

Phew. Thank you! This allowed me to break the link entirely. No more blaring warning all the time.

Mom tried adding me from her account as @DonovanMcNeil suggested, but it would throw the same error I originally reported. :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

It’s a little sad to see my daughter removed from my profile, but hope isn’t all lost. She expressed interest today in rejoining or trying one of the other programs like Sea Scouts. So, should she return, I am sure we can get everything associated correctly in Scoutbook then.

Thank you all.

In principle, your council registrar should be able to make the connection given both Scouting America Member IDs.
