According to the Scoutbook_Permissions pdf linked here, I (Scoutmaster) should be able to assign the MBC Search permission to a Committee Member that I have selected for this role. However, it shows up as “Cannot Assign” – however if I give them an extra, unrelated role, such as Youth Protection Champion, it is assignable.
Am I doing something wrong/misunderstanding something, is this a bug, or is the documentation wrong?

No that is by design @PaulVirdone - the MBC is part of the Advancement process. The Advancement process is for the Scoutmaster Corp, where the committee handles the business of the troop.

@PaulVirdone- do those committee members for whom the can not assign is present do they have any other functional roles
No other functional roles, I didn’t test everything, but adding Youth Protection Champion as a role allows the assignment.
@PaulVirdone - since MBC relates to advancement I wonder of that would open it as well
