Deleting merit badges that are unintentionally started

I have seen a couple other threads about this, but it appears to have withered on the vine with no solution.

We have several Scouts who have merit badges that were unintentionally started due to unfamiliarity with Scoutbook, and which they have no intention to work on. Under the legacy Scoutbook, there was an easy way for the advancement chair or other leader to removed those merit badges. This no longer appears to exist.

While, as noted in earlier threads, it does no real harm to the scout to have random merit badges on their account, it does make it difficult for advancement chairs and Scoutmasters to keep records straight when you run reports that show Scouts with 15 or 16 open merit badges. Sorting through merit badges that the Scout either has no interest in or that they don’t even know are started can make Scoutmaster conferences and committee meetings challenging.

Understand that this is apparently a low-priority fix, but this is a feature that should have migrated to Scoutbook Plus early on.

@JohnLeide - I recall it was noted in the other threads that there is work being done on this issue. Watch the change log for the fix.

Yes, but most of those posts were 9-12 months ago, so I wanted to make sure the issue remained on someone’s radar.

@JohnLeide - there is NO reason to do that when there is already a task for the dev team.
