Good morning. I have a scout who transferred from another troop. Unfortunately, that troop never input requirement completion dates for the lower ranks. The ranks were marked as completed, approved, and awarded but no requirement completion dates were entered. This scout is now ready to head to his Eagle board of review and needs his rank report which is incomplete without the early rank requirement completion dates. I’ve finally figured out how to go back and enter those dates (the scout has good records in his scout handbook) but for some reason, the newly entered requirement completion dates for tenderfoot and second class disappear when I try to mark the rank awarded and save the changes. I’ve tried to leave the “awarded” box unchecked but the dates disappear when I reenter the information for the next higher rank. This has been very frustrating. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Requirement dates are not needed - the National Eagle Verification system only uses final Rank or MB dates. Dates for requirements are locked if the item is already approved, so could not be entered.
@GeorgeLudwig - that rank report is not required for the EBoR.
Thanks for the info. Our local rep for the EBoR seems to want the dates. I was able to make changes to Scout and 1st Class ranks and those dates stuck but TF and 2nd Class did not. Seems strange. I’ll forward your responses to the rep and see what he says. Thanks again.
@GeorgeLudwig - all that the council and national sees are the final dates of rank and merit badges. The requirements are a local unit view only. If your unit used another tracking app and upload to scoutbook there would only be final dates of complete. The guide to advancement does not mention these reports.
Chapter 9 lays out the Eagle process nice and clear and what is required
