I have an event in Scoutbook for my Venturing crew. For that event, I added everyone in the crew as an invitee:
Then I send an email by clicking PREVIEW/SEND RSVP REQUEST here:
It appears that none of my youth members get the emails. I’ve checked the profiles of several, and they have all confirmed the correct email address is entered as the sole email, and the email is listed as primary. The emails are not ending up in a junk folder.
I’ve also provided a direct link to the event (Scoutbook Plus), but some of my youth tell me they cannot log in and cannot even set a new password using the “forgot username/password” feature.
Parents are generally getting these RSVP emails, but when they act on they, they are RSVPing for themselves, not their youth, which is causing confusion as many parents are legit "no"s when their youth can attend.
Is this expected behavior?
Do you have youth who are receiving regular calendar reminders for events that don’t require rsvp? That would be a place to start for the first issue.
For the second, what is one youth member ID (no names please) who has been unsuccessfully in logging in?
Lastly, if parents are not RSVPing for their children, that’s a behavioral issue which can be tough to predict. We can design it a little better to make it more obvious they need to consider the whole family.
Thank you. Let me address each of your comments specifically.

At this point, I am just trying to evaluate this feature. I do not have regular use before now.

…if parents are not RSVPing for their children…
The email they get has a link where they can click to immediately RSVP yes, maybe, or no:
When I click on one of those link, the RSVP is registered for me, and there is no option to enter an RSVP for my kid:
So I guess the problems that I need help solving with the emailed RSVP option:
- Youth generally appear not to be receiving any RSVP emails. I so far am unaware of any exceptions.
- While adults do receive RSVP emails, they can only enter the RSVP for themselves.
- (this is not previously stated) The RSVP email’s subject line is so vague, it looks like a spam email. It would be helpful for the subject to be something like Please RSVP: [event name].
