Expired Unit Shows Up

Troop 624G in Circle Ten Council #571 was expired when it’s membership was rolled into Troop 624B which was in turn converted to a family troop. Troop 624G has correctly disappeared in My.Scouting.Org and in Legacy Scoutbook, but still shows up as a selectible unit in Scoutbook Plus (Advancements.Scouting.Org). Leaders are still shown in Troop 624G on the Scoutbook Plus Roster, but all of them were also multiple registrants in Troop 624B prior to the merger.

@RobertAcker

Where do you see 624G as selectable? What are some Scouting America Member IDs (no names) for leaders that are on the roster? Are you appearing on the roster? I checked your memberships in Akela and 624G ended on 1/1/26.

Ed,

Troop 624G shows up in Scoutbook Plus and Legacy Scoutbook both. In Scoutbook Plus is in the unit selection drop down menu in the upper right corner. In Scoutbook Legacy it shows up under “My Units” to the right on my dashboard page. It does NOT show up in my.scouting.

Registered leaders include myself – BSA 9332387 and also leaders 125649758, 132915550, 13928405, 130797920 and a few more – all BSA ID numbers issued by Circle Ten Council 571.

A clue: There was one youth still remaining on the T624G roster that I removed earlier – All leaders were already registered as multiples on T624B/F as was this youth. Does everyone have to be deleted before Scoutbook Plus and Scoutbook Legacy remove an expired unit?

Thank you!

Bob Acker

My initial guess would be left over Legacy positions that are hanging out there. That would clearly explain the top right dropdown profile menu

@RobertAcker

Donovan is correct, the issue is hanging positions for Troop 624F in Legacy Scoutbook. Once those positions are ended, you will no longer see 624F in your dropdown menu.

Okay - I went into Scoutbook Legacy, was able to open the Roster and used the End All Positions link at the very bottom of the Roster and removed all remaining adults. THe unit immediately disappeared in Legacy - showing up in Scoutbook Plus but I bet it will be gone when the systems all sync.

@RobertAcker

You still have open memberships for 624F in Legacy Scoutbook. As long as these remain, you will see the unit in your dropdown. Note there is no sync.

Your open positions are Committee Member, Patrol Admin for Delta and TX Rangers, Life to Eagle Coordinator, Key 3 Delegate, Troop Admin and ASM.

Guys - we have a bigger issue now. When all membership in Troop 624G was ended and Troop 624G disappeared in Legacy Scoutbook, all calendar entries for Troop 624F disappeared! I’m not sure how an expired troop going away can wipe up an entire calendar of another unit. Any tools to restore the Troop 624F calendar?

I might see the issue

@RobertAcker yes yours is odd - it is being looked at

After last nights sync, Troop 624 Calendar has not been restored. After being re-added to Troop 624G (expired troop) I cannot see that troop in my.scouting or legacy Scoutbook. It shows up on the drop-down menu scout book plus, but when opened it just shows expired unit and none of the roster or other buttons work

Developer Clue- we discovered by clicking a link from an email reminder we can open an event! But . . . The events still don’t show up in Scoutbook Plus to be viewed or edited. In other words, the event is still there but just not showing up.

Yes the old events are just attached to the wrong unit, so they are off your calendar for the unit - probably best to not mess too much with things until it is resolved.
