Exploring Adult Positions

There has been some discussion on Exploring adult positions. I thought I’d add the Exploring Club positions (which are different from Post positions) and include the minimum number required for Posts and Clubs to operate:

All Exploring posts require the following adult positions:
Adult Position Codes
These four positions are mandatory for an Exploring post:
• IH—Executive officer
• PCC—Post committee chair (only one)
• PMC—Post committee member (minimum of two)
• EA—Exploring Advisor (only one)
• AA—Associate Advisor (optional)

All Exploring clubs require these two positions:
• ES–Exploring club sponsor (only one)
• AS–Exploring club associate sponsor (minimum of one)

Note that there is no equivalent to traditional Scouting COR position as Exploring units do not have charters (they have Memoranda of Understanding), and Exploring Clubs do not have committees.

Exploring Adult Position Training

Version 2021-07-26-D

In addition to youth protection training, basic position-specific training is available online via the my.Scouting Tools website for the advisors and associate advisors, post/club committee chair and committee member, and service team members.

The position training requirements’ document appears to be limited to post positions. It looks like the Exploring Guidebook is the primary source for position descriptions and responsibilities,

There is also a Scouting U module under Commissioner Expanded Learning, titled Servicing Exploring Units, SCO 756. This module is designed to give existing commissioners a quick introduction to providing unit service to Exploring units. This module, along with many other Exploring modules is being revised (no estimate on when the updated modules will be online at this time).

@JeffreySchweiger, where did you find Exploring club adult position codes? I am still hunting for an official source.

They’re printed on the new Exploring Adult Application, http://www.exploring.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/FINAL-1a_524-01019-Explor-Adult-App_WEB.pdf
