How to I look up "joined date"?

As a Scoutmaster, I used to be able to look at a Scout’s profile and see their membership history (dates in Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, etc.) What is the equivalent option in Scoutbook Plus?

Specifically, I want to look up when a Scout joined our troop? (The date on the Scout’s profile is blank, and when I previously saw this, I could navigate to Legacy and look it up.)

Why do I care? It’s a field on the Eagle Application.

@KatherynBurgess If this is their first and only troop, and if they registered online to join the troop, then the troop can use the Application Manager at my.Scouting to get the information. On the Application Manager, use the filter icon (looks kind of like a funnel), select “Closed” and “Completed”, and change the “From Date” so that it’s a date before the Scout(s) joined the troop. If the Scout was not in Cub Scouts, the Date Joined is not critical. It just needs to be before the first campout. I typically use the Scout Rank date or date the first requirement was completed if I do not know the actual date. For a former Cub Scout, the date needs to be after the last Cub Scout activity. These are obtuse ways to find the info (or not). I was asking for the “new” way to look up the info that was neatly served up in Scoutbook Legacy.
For example, I cannot, as Scoutmaster, look up an application for a Life Scout who joined our unit in 2022.

As an SM I have always used a best guess - that date is just a place holder for reports.

To the development team, it would be nice to have the same “membership” table list for all of a Scout’s career that was available in Scoutbook Legacy.

And one more point… the application date is “back dated” to the first of the month, whereas Scoutbook Legacy would show the actual transfer date from Cub Scouts to Scouts BSA.

@JeffryRussell - the official membership is always the 1st of the month. What I have done is see if there is a transaction date and use that or in the case of new scouts when they show up on the scoutbook plus roster.

The Date Joined Scouts BSA is used for the following:

1. To filter out Cub Scout camping on the Order of the Arrow Eligibility Report. After 2 years, the exact date no longer matters.
2. To fill in the Date Joined Scouts BSA on the Eagle App. As long as this date is before the Scout earns Scout rank or their first Merit Badge, the exact date is not necessary.

If I did not know the exact date the Scout joined or crossed over, I just used the date of the first Scout rank requiement. It is always close enough.

@JeffryRussell If you download the application, the Submitted Date is the date joined the troop.

Another way to get the date is by clicking on: Reports → Record of Change. It also has the “Date Joined” the troop.

When you print the Eagle application out of Scoutbook+, does it not auto populate?

The Date Joined Scouts BSA will be included on the Eagle App if it has been entered into Scoutbook Plus.
