Are Parents required to allow BSA to use images of their kids in order to for their kids to join Scouting? The publicity consent/waiver was optional in prior versions of the Form A, and it seems like the way the new form is created that it is a requirement.
Absolutely not. There is an obscure, not easy to find form. Google “scouting publicity waiver and release”.
On part A of the AHMR, right column, parents can write in “no photos/videos” in the “List participant restrictions, if any:” section. That’s always easiest - one less slice of paper.
Also, make sure you uncheck the talent release box in the youth’s Scoutbook profile.
