@Shing_ChiPoon - you can also check here -in my.scouting.org
Have you verified that the changes appear in the MBC search tool in SB+? Ive seen long lags between getting notice from council that MBCs have been updated and seeing the updates actually appear in the MBC list in SB+. Often, it’s been because the council makes updates in batches, rather than one MBC at a time.
This report from my.scouting works. it’s not ideal, but at least I can export, filter out for my troop’s adults and then summarize from there.
Thanks!
I still don’t see the merit badge counselor. I want to search for counselors for my troop and I’m the troop admin. I don’t see how to search them on Scoutbook Plus.
Please help me navigating.
Thanks
@Raja_NarendraBoddapa - what is your actual registered position in the unit ? The troop admin is a legacy scoutbook thing that no longer exists.
I’m the assistant Scoutmaster. (Trained)
@Raja_NarendraBoddapa - your key 3 will need to look at this information
A major focus of the migration to Scoutbook Plus is to have positions mirror the positions shown in My.Scouting to ensure positions were reflected accurately in both platforms. The main purpose it to honor the guidance of our charter organizations and the positions they approve. Therefore, Scoutbook Plus does not use Legacy Scoutbook positions. Registered positions are used to provide base permissions. Some additional permissions can be added by the unit, however, there are restrictions on what can be given. See the updated Scoutbook_Permissions.pdf and the Scoutbook Plus permissions video for more details.
not available. ASM now, Sm for 5 years, neither I nor the SM can find the council’s list of approved merit badge counselors. I’ve searched SB, SB+, my.scouting. If this is pilot error, please clue me in. Otherwise if a scout wants to take a MB and the unit does not have a counselor for it, how do we simply locate counselors nearby that are NOT in our unit?
ASMs need to be given the MBC List permission by a Key 3 member.
as i wrote the SM cannot find it either. presume he has permission.
@lawrencephillips1 - in scoutbook plus the scoutmaster should see a menu line on the left side called mb counselors. In my.scouting.org it is in the organization manger then reports
ridiculous. why remove a useful and oft used tool that ASM’s access to provide scouts with MBC info? Not helpful to put yet another admin function on an already over-tasked SM.
@lawrencephillips1 - if the key 3 assign the permission then they will be able to search in scoutbook plus. Not every unit handles ASM tasks the same way
@lawrencephillips1 The Scoutmaster can use the MB Counselors search function in Scoutbook Plus. The Scoutmaster also has the option to delegate permissions using the Permissions Manager:
ASMs can be GIVEN permission to search the MBC list. The Guide to Advancement limits who can see the list. Legacy Scoutbook granted permission to too many individuals. Scoutbook Plus leaves it up to the Key 3 to determine who may search the list.
Key 3 can grant ASMs MBC Search permission from Permissions Manager in Scoutbook Plus.
