Welcome! This forum has a treasure trove of great info – Scouters helping Scouters! Just a heads up, though - all content, information, and opinions shared on this forum are those of the author, not the BSA.
Scoutbook Plus is still incredibly frustrating for parents who are also den leaders, comittee members or pack admins. They are still unable to approve their own child’s advancements. Multiple den leaders are having frustration over this to the point where they are giving up on using it.
It’s hard to push use of Scoutbook Plus to the targeted demographic: den leaders if all of them are going to have this problem.
I don’t know if this is exclusive to those parents who hold multiple positions in Scoutbook.
For example:
Member ID14395454 who is Key 3 Delegate, Pack Admin, Pack Trainer, Unit Advancement Chair, Webelos Den Leader, cannot approve 14385193.
Member ID 13856128 who is Committee Chairman, Pack Admin, Den Admin, Pack Admin, Webelos Den Leader cannot approve 13856135.
SB+ relies heavily on registered positions. Is this scouter actually registered as both CC and WL? That might be part of the issue. I assume that the duplicate Pack Admin was just a typo, not an actual duplicate role in classic Scoutbook?
As with the prior scouter, what is this scouter’s registered position (PT or WL)? Is UAC set as a functional role in my.scouting? It shouldn’t be needed if they are already K3D, which has more access.
Just their own kids and yes, drop-down is pack admin which should give ability to approve, right? Both adult leaders have all of the roles yet can’t approve. Been this way for over a year..I’ve posted about it before and seen other posts but it’s still happening and worse now showing the kid isn’t able to receive.
I was able to update this and it works for me now; no longer getting the inelligible error messages! Thank you.
Just a heads up that with the new cub curricculum, they are encouraged with the AOL Bobcat rank to set up a patrol using the patrol method including a patrol leader and assistant patrol leader. These two ranks should act like denner in cubs. Not a rush to fix/add that functionality but it can certainly help keep track of who has held the position for rotation and acknowledgement.
I will check on the other leader. She has Committee Chairman, Pack Admin, Den Admin, Pack Admin, Webelos Den Leader roles and has tried the role change dropdown in the top right.
