Welcome! This forum has a treasure trove of great info – Scouters helping Scouters! Just a heads up, though - all content, information, and opinions shared on this forum are those of the author, not the BSA.
Hello…has anyone else had any luck finding a way to enter information/requirements for the Liberty in Action Emblem? Of course I can enter the service hours we did as a troop, and I can order the patches from the scout store, but I can’t find any way to actually enter the information into Scoutbook. There is no Liberty in Action option anywhere on the awards tab that I can see. Maybe it doesn’t need to be entered into Scoutbook or recorded at all?
Has anyone else completed this and have any information they can share?
This is really a question that should be directed towards your district or council staff. It kinda looks like some sort of Supply Group initiative (to me), since the requirements only appear there?
ETA: Expanding on Stephen’s remarks below, you’ll notice that Liberty in Action doesn’t appear on the list of awards. That could be because the website hasn’t been updated to reflect it yet, or it could be because there’s no intent for it to be an official “award” (e.g. supported in SB+).
Your district/council staff should be able to get to the bottom of those questions, which is why I suggested that they be your first stop for things like this.
From what I have read in this challenge compared to the other awards listed on scout book, that it is not an official BSA award. the verbiage in the other awards say to record service hours here, record (activity) here. The Liberty challenge does not have that verbiage at all.
