You wrote yesterday, “Registrars can now assign MBs to MBCs at the same time they are being registered, there is no longer a need to wait 24 hours.”
This afternoon, I worked with our registrar (in Occoneechee 421)and attempted to figure out how to do this.
We had a new MBC to add, so that was completed. The new MBC is MID 13845318
Everything went as normal. We then went to his record. The MBC registration was not showing in the list of registrations. Tomorrow I am sure it will. However, we went to Advancement and Training → Merit Badge Counselor. We brought up the badge selected and completed the choices.
When adding, we entered today’s date and get this popup.
So we changed the date to toda, and the Add button didn’t work.
If there is truly a way to both register an MBC and assign the badges the same day, please advise how that is done.

The registrar can add the MBs the same day the MBC is registered via Registrar Tools.
She *the registrar", tried, it does not work. Perhaps this is a semantical issue?
How are your defining, “the same day the MBC is registered”?
(we understand she does this in Registrar Tools, cause it’s a daily task for her.)
And when she registered a new MBC this afternoon, there was no way to add the MBs.
So what is SHE missing?
The registrar needs to “accept” the grayed out start date. I don’t know the mechanics of doing that. She can ask in the internal help forums. Another registrar can explain the process.
@GanttEdmiston are you adding that Expiration date in the image? That is not logical
Leave the EXPIRATION field blank.
Thanks. The Council Registrar has only had one MBC to add, using Registrar Tools since the SB+ migration. As soon as we get another to add, we will certainly try this.
Ok, will try that next time. Let me ask however, how would the Registrar know to leave the date field blank when adding badges? Previously, adding the date was allowed.
Why would you expire the MBC the same day you registered them? Their position will expire automatically on the same date all other paid registrations end or after 12 months if this is the only paid registration.
