MBC requirement entry just spinning

Thank you for the advice on how to help the scout get to his board of review. While this advice is nice, what I need is someone to fix Scout Book Plus so I can complete merit badges. I taught this badge during a merit badge event so I am not in the scout’s area to complete “Old-fashion” way.

I tried again today but still getting the spinning circles for “Notes” and “Save”. Also, the circles are spinning even before I enter any data. I never had this issue with Scout Book.

Something is amiss with the new version.

Ideas?

This problem resolved itself for this morning. I entered the completions I had and they saved just fine. This afternoon a strangler came along and again i got the spinning wheels.

I am thinking it might take some time between linking to a Scout.and actually signing off his requirements.

For the Eagle Scout candidate who is approaching his/her 18th birthday., I would.contact the advancement chair and do it the old-fashion way with a blue card.

@NicholasDzierzanowsk One issue might be that you have 2 usernames (logins) at my.Scouting associated with the same member ID number. Would you like them to be merged?

I am also a MBC and am seeing the same thing today (not yesterday when I entered data for 30+ MBs). The youth member I am working on is #141006855. The MB is Small Boat Sailing. I am unable to sign off on any of this MBs requirements for this scout.

@MarkCarmel so is it ANY requirement for Small Boat that does it?

@NicholasDzierzanowsk

Did you try an incognito window as I suggested yesterday?

Yes, Sir. I tried several requirements in that MB; no joy.

I appear to have two user names; only a case difference in one letter. I did not expect the username to be case sensitive, passwords yes but not usernames; the passwords for either rendation are the same. All other founctions in scoutbook appear to be working for me with or without the uppercase letter. If need be I would litke them to be merged and I will pay attention to how I enter my user name in the future.

Yes I did. No luck. Looking for a fix not a kludge.

To be clear, if an incognito window “fixes” the issue, it is almost always (in my experience, it has always been) something local, whether stale cache or a local plugin that’s interfering with the site operation. While I personally think that caching as much stuff as SB+ does tends to cause issues, it is also clear that under certain circumstances (particularly on high-load days) it improves system performance significantly.

Yes, please merge to Nicholas. Please delete Nick.

Thanks

Yes, still spinning circles Save and Add Notes.

Any other ideas?

@NicholasDzierzanowsk One username is an e-mail. The other username is not.

Which username do you want to keep?

Keep email user name.

@NicholasDzierzanowsk Your usernames have been merged.

From now on, please only use your e-mail address as your username.

Thanks. How do we fix the spinning circle issues?

Still cannot check off completed requirements for scouts.

I would start by logging out of all *.scouting.org sites, clearing cache (at least for *. scouting.org sites) and then logging back in with the email address as username you and Jennifer just arranged. That should at least eliminate any residual effects from the login issues.

After that, it should be easier to continue drilling down if the issue persists.

Greetings,
I tried logging out everywhere as recommended above, clearing the cache, and using a different web browser; no joy. As soon as I enter a date to sign off any requirement in Oceanography, Small Boat Sailing, or Weather Merit Badges, the comment button starts “grinding…” Sometimes, when I try to open a scout’s record for these three MBs, the version at the top comes up as a 3-digit number instead of e.g., “2026 (Active)” and I can’t change it. I also tried using incognito windows in Chrome; no joy that way either.

Youth Member Nr 141006855. Small boat sailing requirement Nr 2.

Youth Member Nr 13965881 Oceanography. When I click on “View MB” I get an almost blank screen with a requirements version with “479” in the window (I can’t change it).

I am a MBC Coordinator. One of our counselors tried updating completed requirements for a scout last night and found that all of her progress (for that MB) has been lost with the migration. Any advice on how to recover that information?

@LiliShiau that is often the MB version was changed - I would first check that
