MB’s are showing up as approved by the MBC after a scout marks the MB requirements as complete, even though the MBC neither approved the MB as complete nor approved the individual requirements marked complete by the scout. The MB also shows up under “To Approve,” and displays as “marked completed” by the MBC, even though it was not.

Here is a current screenshot. It previously said that the merit badge was marked as completed by the merit badge counselor. I was able to remove that designation by deleting the Final Completion date on the merit badge. The merit badge counselor sent me a screenshot from SB legacy that showed she had not marked the merit badge as complete or approved the final requirements. I will post that screenshot next.
I see something strange in the DB for this Scout. I need to get with the developers to investigate.
What I thought was strange in the DB is correct. I was looking at the wrong field. We will investigate what you are saying.
@LoganPool - that screenshot shows the Health and Safety leader approved by BSA Administrator and ONLY marked completed the scout I gather. Since Req 1 is a roll up that section being approved is correct as all sub-reqs are counselor approved
We have not been able to reproduce a case where a Scout marked a MB req complete and it was marked Counselor Approved. I suspect the MBC in this case just forgot the MB reqs were marked approved.
If you can reproduce the issue, please make a video and let us know as we certainly do not want this occurring.

To clarify, it’s requirement 2c (not requirement 1) in the screenshot that has not been approved by the MBC (the scout has also not completed requirement 7, which is not shown in the screenshot). Yet the merit badge still shows up on the “To Approve” Advancements section. When I run a Unit Merit Badge In-Progress Report, it also says there are requirements that have not been completed and that the merit badge has not been approved. Are you able to remove the cooking MB from the “To Approve” section?
I’m hoping you are right that it is not a systemic issue. I’ll keep my eye out to see if it happens again.
@LoganPool - the reason why it is showing up for approval is that it is showing 100% completed in the grab from the MBC
What you need to do is back out the completed date… YOU are the one that needs to take action.
@LoganPool - I am thinking a screen share is needed to see what is going on with this mb. I can do that if you wish.

@LoganPool - could you try an incognito session and/or clearing cache and cookies for scouting.org sites.
The dev team was unable to replicate the issue
The issue seems to have resolved. I cleared my cache, but the issue appeared again just like earlier today when you virtually controlled my computer. It still said 100 percent complete, despite missing several requirements. So I went into SB legacy, and unclicked “Percent Complete” on the MB and that seems to have resolved the issue. I know we did that before, but it seems something has changed on the back end or perhaps through clearing the cache. Now it shows the cooking MB to be 73% complete, which seems more accurate.
