I’m having the exact same issue as this (closed) thread: NOAA shows merit badge requirements approved when merit badge incomplete
I am the advancement chair and Key 3 delegate. It says that I approved the incomplete merit badges in 2025 - I most certainly did not. I am also the MB Counselor for this Scout… and am fully aware that I’m still waiting for completions from him.
I am also not able to “unapprove” the merit badges marked complete. There is no date in the approval field. It does not allow changes.
Scout’s ID is 136659243.
What’s the fix for this?
@JenniferOverturf - can you click on the chevron next to an approved requirement and see if that exposes the date. The steps after that would be to uncheck the approved box, save then clear the date and save.
It exposes the date box, but it does not allow me to enter any text or save anything. (I tried…)
It also says he earned a Sea Scout rank and I approved it… he has not. He’s not in Sea Scouts. This whole thing is weird.

The screen shot did not capture when I move my mouse over the date box, I get a circle with a line through it. I did capture that the save button is not blue - I can uncheck the approval, but I can’t save it.
The top accurately shows that the Cooking and Camping merit badges are not compete. Not sure where the Sea Scout Apprentice Rank is coming from?
@JenniferOverturf - that sea scout rank is one of the requirements. Either first class or… the merit badges are just showing leader signed
Right. He did earn First Class, and that is marked complete/approved. But it is also showing that he earned Sea Scout Apprentice- which he did not.
The merit badges are showing leader signed at the top - that is accurate. But in Req 2 it shows Camping as complete/approved (it is not).
And in Req 3, it shows cooking mb as complete/approved (it is not).
@JenniferOverturf - read it again apprentice says started not earned
The apprentice req is marked approved in the DB even though there isn’t a completion date.
I have sent this to the developers for investigation.

Thank you edavignon! Same error for Req 2 (camping mb) and Req 3 (cooking mb). Marked approved, no date - and it’s not actually complete.
@JenniferOverturf - yeah there are odd issues on that award and screenshots are good for any odd issues
