The refresher option should be presented on every page from which SYT can be launched. I found 2 different scenarios, and was only able to access the refresher course from one of them. Scouters in the first scenario will feel like they are being forced into the 90 minute course, even if they are eligible for the refresher course.
Scenario 1:
I am eligible to take the SYT Refresher course. I log into My.Scouting.org, and click on the SYT logo. I am presented with the full 90-minute course, with “Retake” as the only option.
Scenario 2:
I am eligible to take the SYT Refresher course. I log into My.Scouting.org, and click on “My Training.” I am taken to the Training Center, where I can see that my SYT expires in XX days. I click “Retake Course” from here, and I am presented with the 20-minute refresher course.
Presenting both options on every screen will allow Scouters to choose the correct course, and avoid spending extra time on the full course if that’s not necessary. If they aren’t eligible for the Refresher, that option can be grayed out with a short explanatory comment.
