I’m the advancement coordinator for my Troop and, since April '26 Scoutbook plus update, I cannot assign merit badge counselors nor can I create reports. My key-3 cannot figure out what the problem is. MemberID is (removed by moderator.)
@DarylChamberlain - have your key three review this doc
You have the correct permissions. I recommend trying an Incognito window or clearing your cache.
Thanks, I will try that.
Same issue. I’m the Scoutmaster, and since the migration, I can’t authorize any rank requirements being completed.
First, I assume this is for T625G. Since you are registered as Scoutmaster, remove your Unit Advancement Chair and Registration Inquiry functional roles via the Position Manager link in Scoutbook Plus. If you do not have this link, it is because of the multiple roles. Have the Committee Chair or Charter Org Rep remove these roles.
Since you are Key 3, these other roles are are not needed and are probably conflict with your Scoutmaster role. Wait until the next day and try again. I suspect you will have success after doing this.
Let us know if this works.
Actually, adding me as the advancement chair was an attempt to see if that would allow me to have access to mark the requirements, but that did not work.
@LisaScarbrough - are you also a parent of a scout? The dropdown in the upper right should be on the scoutmaster role. Are getting any error popup?
Advancement chairs have almost no permissions by default.
Try an incognito window. Make sure you have the correct role selected in the upper right.
@LisaScarbrough - i can set up a screenshare if that would help
Why would an advancement chair not have permissions by default when their whole purpose is advancement? What sense does that make?
Not necessary. I was able to make the changes today finally.
Yes, I am a parent of a Scout but not one in this unit.
@LisaScarbrough - the highlighted are the default recommended permissions for UAC applied via permission manager
For Troops, the Guide to Advancement gives authority to decide who can sign off on advancement to the Scoutmaster. Since not all Scoutmasters want their Unit Advancement Chairs to approve advancement, Scoutbook Plus leaves the permission decision up to the unit.
I have Council level permissions and since the last update I can’t see unit POs, Advancement reports and now even the rosters.
What do you mean Council level permissions? I don’t see anything in your registered positions that would give you permission above a unit level.
The Legacy Scoutbook Council Admin role does not carry over to Scoutbook Plus. You will need to speak with your Council if they expect you to have additional access.
Developers request you try again.
Here’s another - Council gave me permissions to be able to assist units that come into the Scout Shop. Neither of these units that I am showing you are my Troop.
