I’m checking off a Scout’s Star requirements one at a time as she earns them. I checked off 6a and 6b in the Scoutbook database a few days ago. The Individual Advancement Record (IAR) several days later shows I also need to check off Star requirement 6. No checkbox is offered; only 6a and 6b are available. What’s up? There is no rank 6 requirement other than 6a and 6b.
@AlanOstner- what does the scouts bsa history report show ? The requirement is a roll-up so once a and b are approved then 6 should be completed
how do I find this report? I’m not familiar with it
@AlanOstner- on the scout record page in advancements.scouting.org under the hike camping and service box is run report click that and it is in that list
@AlanOstner - this is what a star scout in my unit has under req 6
@AlanOstner the IAR is a pretty old report and not sure if it is even updated for the newest versions of rank - I would use the History reports
I just checked one of my Scouts who earned Star rank recently. Both reports look as expected - requirement 6 was checked off.
Do you literally mean classic Scoutbook (scoutbook.scouting) or do you mean Scoutbook+ (advancements.scouting)? If classic SB, I wonder if it isn’t updating the rank requirement correctly because it’s obsolescent.
I’m entering them in SB plus. Here’s what I see in SB plus
And here is what I see in BSA History report
What happens if you pull down the expansion arrow on the right corner? If you can change it manually, does changing the state of 6 from Complete to Approved change the report?
sigh Ignore me. I forgot that collapses the requirement, not allows approval of the combined requirements.
@JenniferOlinger @DonovanMcNeil - I just tested this with one of our scouts and the approval of 6a and 6b does not roll up 6 to approved it marks it completed with no date
If you can post a Member # (no names) of a scout we can look at it. Was this using Quick Entry?
141473680 is the member #. No I wasn’t using Quick Entry. I was in Scoutbook Plus.
Yeah that 6a/b are new - so it is being looked at
