Position of Responsibility

Life Scout 131829271 has 180 days in a position of responsibility. When Council Eagle Processor runs Eagle Application validation, they get an error message that “At Least 6 months total service in selected Life Scout positions of Responsibility are required for Eagle Rank.” Does 180 days not meet 6-month requirement? Is something else? Any help would be appreciated.

That’s really a policy question, which we’re supposed to direct folks to council for clarifications. I would go prepared by researching any articles that have been posted on an official channel, such as Bryan/Aaron On Scouting, that address something like that.

@CharleyHamilton maybe - but was also hoping someone could look at this Scouts profile to see if there is some other issue. ie: Like how it is marked in SB+

365 Days / 2 = 182.5 = 180 is not 6 months. I think that system uses day of month to day of month (4/4-10/4) - not the number of days. Simple answer is Council is the gate keeper and their rules - work with them.

@JenniferOlinger Thanks, was looking in the wrong spot in Guide to Advancement. I went straight to rank advancement section.

@DonovanMcNeil Thanks, not so much Council rule, it has to do with Eagle Application Validation in Registrar Tools.

The POR requirement for Life is not 180 days, it is 6 months. Scouting America defines 6 months from 8/29/22 to 2/28/23. It is the start date in one month to the same day (or day before if it doesn’t exist) 6 months later. The error the Eagle processor is getting is because the Scout is 4 days short of 6 months.
