Removing Scouts and Adults from My Scouting Roster

Hello, I am the SM for a troop with many military families. This causes involvement in the troop to regularly change with “Permanent Change of Station Season” (summer).

We have many individuals listed on the My Scouting Roster that have moved to other councils.

Member IDs of people who are still involved in scouting, just not at this council (Transatlantic Council):

137282689

137282687

140231137

137264417

140987645

141679543

How can I get them removed from this troops my scouting roster?

If they’re still involved in scouting, they should drop off if they transfer to a new unit (rather than being multiple-registered into the new unit). Your council registrar can potentially help, but typically councils don’t want to “drop” a registered individual prior to expiration of the registration.

If you’re still in contact with the families, you could ask them to let you know when they’ve transferred into their new unit. The registrar might be more willing to help end a dangling “multiple” registration after a unit transfer than to cut off an existing registration.

Thank you, I’m still in contact with the families that have moved. It looks like some of the families have registrations in both troops.

One example is

Same person:

SB+ ID: 142315954, he was still listed as a Den Chief in T303. I just removed him and his entry no longer appears in SB+.

My Scouting ID: 137282689, his entry still appears on the My Scouting roster.

Can families of the Scouts remove them from an old council? Or should I contact the families to make sure they have registered in a new council and then contact the transatlantic council registrar to remove them from the TAC troop?

There is an option to opt them out on your scoutbook plus roster. It won’t remove them from the my.scouting roster immediately but it should make sure they don’t accidentally renew in your unit.
