Resolving Duplicate BSA IDs

@CurtAlphonso What is the duplicate account info

I also have a leader with 2 #'s. His first one is 111228563, 2nd one is #14465672. Can we get these merged?
Thanks.

@CurtAlphonso This should be fixed.

@CaitlinCornell I am looking in to this.

@CaitlinCornell I have merged this leaderā€™s Scoutbook accounts.

I would recommend contacting your local council, because this leader has active registrations in the same council under both BSA member numbers. Ask if they can use their Registrar Tools to combine his registrations and relationships under a single number.

Thank you. I just emailed them.

Hi there,
I was a youth in an old council, then setup my.scouting as an adult in new state linking that old record. Some of my training was done with that ID. But Iā€™m also registered in a new council with a new ID for merit badge counselor.
Old: 110137354
New: 14093153
When I try to add the new one on my.scouting I get ā€œThe provided Member ID does not match the existing user profile.ā€
Can you help me with a merge or way to add them both to my.scouting? Thanks!

@WilliamVieux The dates of birth are different by about 20 years.

Wild. Should be 1977. There couldnā€™t have been anyone with my same name in Frontier Council. When I created my.scouting account in the last 2 years, it found the previous registration. I also donā€™t think San Diego Imperial Council would have put the wrong birthday for me on the new adult registration in the last two years. How can I help get this resolved?

@WilliamVieux I have merged your Scoutbook accounts.

If you contact your local council, they can correct your date of birth.

I would also recommend that you ask your local council to use their Registrar Tools to look up your Scout. In the Relationships" section, he is connected to you under your old BSA member number. They should make sure that you are listed as his parent under BSA member number 14093153. They should remove the other one, or you might run into issues at Recharter time.

Thank you so much! My council was able to fix the birthday and relationship. Really appreciate the quick help!

@WilliamVieux Confirmed. Everything looks good now.

We have a scout who is putting in his Eagle application, and Iā€™m trying to help sort out his rank advancement and membership history for his application.

I have his ID in Scoutbook which holds his correct advancement data, but the initial membership dates seem to be wrong. That account is: SB User ID: 7149273, BSA Member ID: 133554968.

Our local council has indicated there is a duplicate account, but Iā€™m not sure what the member ID is for the duplicate account.

Is it possible to merge these two accounts, taking the earlier membership date which should be sometime around September 2016?

Please let me know if you need any additional information.

Thanks,
Whit

@ThomasArmstrong I did find a second BSA member number and Scoutbook userID for this Scout, but they are basically empty.

The earliest registration I can find for him is 10/01/2016.

@ThomasArmstrong I would recommend having the Scout double-check his date of birth. They were slightly different between the two BSA member numbers.

Hi, @JenniferOlinger. Thank you for your help with this issue.

The correct birth date for this scout is October 3, 2005.

Our local counsel was able to update his ā€œInternet Advancementā€ profile under Member ID: 133554968 to show the correct joining date of October 1, 2016.

However, the Scoutbook membership records under the same Member ID 133554968 (Scoutbook ID: 7149273) do not reflect this information. They currently show a ā€œjoining dateā€ of Aug 6th, 2019.

Is it possible to update the Scoutbook membership records so that the joining date matches the ā€œInternet Advancementā€ data? (the correct joining date of Oct 1, 2016)

Please let me know what I can do to help. I do not know the ID number for the alternate/duplicate profile.

Thanks,
Whit

@ThomasArmstrong not sure I understand? look at all the closed memberships for the scout not just the open one. If this is an Eagle Application concern the date joined on the Eagle app comes from the Date joined field under the Profile

Thanks, @DonovanMcNeil.

Iā€™m not sure if these links are visible to you. Iā€™ve attached images of the relevant pages as well.

Scoutbook information / Membership tab (Incorrect information):
https://scoutbook.scouting.org/mobile/dashboard/admin/membership.asp?ScoutUserID=7149273&UnitID=95411

Internet Advancement (correct information):
https://advancements.scouting.org/youthProfile/7149273

He is submitting the Eagle application physically, but the concern is that the data are inconsistent and that will cause problems when council reviews the information in Scoutbook.

@ThomasArmstrong - well you could print out the eagle scout rank application via scoutbook and see if it pulls the date from IA which it should

Council does not have access to scoutbook - IF they look at memberships they would look at AKELA
