# Roster Builder Designer: Unchecked Scouts in "Scouts Not In A Patrol" become re-checked after saving report

**Observed Behavior:**

In **Roster Builder Designer** , a group titled **“Scouts Not In A Patrol”** appears in the selections area, containing Scouts who are actively assigned to patrols in Scoutbook Plus.

When the “Scouts Not In A Patrol” category box itself is **not active / unchecked** , individual Scouts inside that group who were previously checked and then manually unchecked before saving become re-checked automatically after the report template is saved.

**Impact on Generated Rosters:**

Because the unchecked state for these individual Scouts does not persist upon saving, generated roster reports list affected Scouts twice—once under their assigned active patrol and once under the blank/unassigned patrol section (displaying `Scouts BSA [] Patrol` alongside their active patrol tenure).

**System Context:**

- The main Scoutbook Plus Roster displays all affected Scouts accurately within their assigned patrols.

@JamesMayled - this has been previously reported and is an affect of legacy scoutbook still existing. Watch the change log for when it is fixed.
