I have Scouter who has leadership roles in multiple units with Primary Membership in Sea Scout Ship, Bay Area Council, ID: 141444074 while also being member in Scouts BSA Troop in Sam Houston Area Council, ID 12767770. As we try to track the requirements around moving from “Youth Protection Training” to “Safeguarding Youth Training” around the key May 31, 2026 (yesterday) deadline, we know this Scouter completed the new training (have copy of certificate) but shows expired in our Troop records. This particular family has had numerous struggles related to youth and adult ID numbers in both councils. Can something be done to merge the training records here? I hope as part of BSA’s plans ahead, the organization will realize that having a single ID number nationwide is essential. We live adjacent to the boundary between councils so this is a common issue.
In my.scouting.org > Manage Member ID > whatever MID id set to Primary gets all the training synced to it - so if having multiple leadership roles in different councils - they would need to switch Primary MID to each, and let it sit for 24 hours to sync training to that MID.
NOTE: whatever MID is primary here is the MID you log into in the Scouting systems.
