Scout(s) with same name assigned to two councils, with families able to view the other's demographics

We have a family whose Scout was renewed under a different Scout ID (no clue why). In this process, they now also see in the profile a Scout (who has the same name as our Scout) from another state and council. So they see two “Johnny Smiths” in their parent profile, each assigned to a different Unit/Council, who have swapped IDs at some point. I see neither Scout in ScoutbookPlus for our Pack, but do see both IDs (again, they’ve been swapped at some point so I can’t say which “Johnny Smith” is reflected) in SCLegacy).

I have reached out to our DE, registrar, and the registrar of the out of state Council - none of them can apparently help. Frankly we don’t know what happened, and I’m afraid to self correct, have parent remove the other Scout, etc. without being a little more surgical in the process to not mess up the Scout’s history.

This all occurred shortly after our Recharter process. Scoutbook Legacy shows a better timeline of who was added/removed when.

There is a sense of urgency as we can see some demographics of the Out of State scout (and potentially the other Scout’s family can do the same). including DOB, address, parents name - and understandably parents are extremely upset about the safety and privacy aspects.

@KristaEnglert- the membership id numbers would help

@KristaEnglert I would recommend that you ask your local council submit a help ticket to National. Please include the Scout’s name and member ID number(s) on the help ticket.

I’m rather new with the forums  Is it possible to send these directly to someone who can help and not post that information here?

@KristaEnglert- jennifer posted what you should do…she recommended reaching out to council registrar. The member id being posted is not an issue and it helps the SUAC in checking the issues
