A scout in our troop earned the National Outdoor Achievement Award (Camping reqs), which was marked completed with the advancement chair’s name. However, the advancement chair maintains that she did not sign off on the advancement. The last requirement completed was signed off on 16 Sep 2024 by the Scoutmaster. This is also the same date showing as the award being completed in Scoutbook with the advancement chair’s name (these are two different people).
Is it possible to have the advancement chair signature automatically assigned to an item that has been completed, approved and recorded by another leader in the same troop?
If you are referring to the Audit Data light in this image
That is tied close to a users action and we have never seen it fail - would be tough to think how it could? Is that what you are seeing?
I am seeing the data like your image that was signed off by the Scoutmaster for req. 4. I am then seeing the signature of the advancement chair on the top of the screen with her name being displayed and she said she hadn’t marked this award off in Scoutbook. I’m trying to provide her with an explanation as she’s confused as to why her name is appearing.
So was #4 the last to be completed? Would need to see the whole award to even start getting an idea. Unless she is saying it is not-completed - it is trivial as that Audit data only the unit sees
@WandaSpinner What is the Scout’s BSA member ID number?
Req 4 was the last requirement signed off. There is no doubt that it was completed. She is just puzzled as to why her name is being displayed. I guess the thought is that the Scoutmaster’s should be displayed instead.
The Scout’s member id number is 141000144.
There seems to be something off, because the Scout earned First Class rank on 5/14/2024, but the overall date of completion is November 5, 2023, which matches requirement 4 (nights of camping).
He is new to the troop since August of this year. The main confusion was to our advancement chair as to why her name was associated with the last signoff date of completion 16 Sep 2024. Our scoutmaster signed the last requirement off. I suspect she thought that his name should be showing and not hers.
@WandaSpinner - and this means nothing outside of the unit. All that is important is the final complete date. That is all that national sees.
Are you saying that she didn’t mark any of the requirements complete? What about First Class or the various MBs required?
