When I look at a the list of adventures earned (regardless of rank of my Cubs) some have a star and some have a double check. It doesn’t matter if it is a required or an elective. What is the difference between the starred and double checked. I see no different markings for the same adventures in Scoutbook.
I answered my own question. Starred is awarded and double checked is needs awarding.
