Welcome! This forum has a treasure trove of great info – Scouters helping Scouters! Just a heads up, though - all content, information, and opinions shared on this forum are those of the author, not the BSA.
Hi there, I have been having a hard time signing up for stuff in Scoutbook, and it appears that I have two accounts, Tim and Timothy, using the same email address. I am signed in as Tim, and it will not allow me to add myself to anything.
Here is my SB User ID: 13211339 and my BSA Member ID: 140259602
I’m hoping I can use Tim moving forward, as that is the account I see when I go to scouting.org
It’s generally easier in the long run to maintain the legal name format in the database, and enter your preferred name in the Nickname field for your profile. That’s less trouble if/when you register as a scouter (e.g. so that it matches all of the background check documents).
The SUAC folks can see more on the back-end to sort out the best way to proceed in terms of which BSA ID/account to retain, and which ID should be primary.
@TimHampton that is fixed - I recommend that They contact your local council and ask them to use the Registrar Tools to look up the children. When they look up the children, they want to check children’s “User Relationship” and make sure that children are connected to parent with Only the correct BSA member ID number 140259602
