I have a couple of our unit leaders who are also MB counselors and when I connect them to Scouts as MBC, they are not getting notified via email. They are already connected to the Scouts through the unit, so is that the reason they’re not getting notified via email when they get connected as a MBC?
Yes. They only get notified the first time they are connected to a Scout.
Darn, ok. Would be nice to have a preference to always get notified.

Then why do you need to be notified you were connected? If the Scout has contacted you, you can look at your connections in Scoutbook and if you are not connected, use the Connect as MBC link on your connection page, enter the Scout’s member and last name to be connected.
To know that the connection has been established so that they can start recording advancement comes to mind.
@DavidParker7 - as they are already connected to the scout by virtue of their unit leadership position then they would already be able to update advancement. The only thing that should be looked at is if they have edit advancement and/or have the MBC box checked and that MB selected in their connection status.
Understood, but this thread is really about notification that a connection was made for a specific merit badge. The leaders just wanted to know that the electronic connection had been made for the specific merit badge.
@DavidParker7 - once they are connected to a scout there is no vehicle for notification of a nuance to that existing connection especially if it is all within the same unit.
