Webelos Advancement approval by Parents

In an April 2020 Scoutbook Update email, it says:
Cub Scout Advancement

  • Due to changes in policy during the COVID-19 pandemic, Cub Scout and Webelos parents are now allowed to approve requirements and final completion for Cub Scout Ranks and Adventures. All parents will now see the Leader Approved and Awarded check boxes. This change applies to all Cub Scouts and Webelos. See the COVID-19 FAQ for more information.

My question is, is this intended to be an ongoing permission or is there apt to be a switch back to where leaders had to approve?

The COVID exception to approvals in Cub Scouts is still in place. We believe the BSA will remove this exception once the COVID pandemic is over.
