Why 2 leaders on email to Scout & parent?

Why do I have to add a 2nd leader to an email to a Scout when their parent (who is also a leader) is also on the message? My poor husband gets more messages that he cares to read just so I have a 2nd adult on the email when it seems completely unnecessary.

(And apologies if this has been asked & answered, but the search tool didn’t turn up any results)

Have you tried adding yourself?

No, never thought to since I’m sending it and will be on the email when it lands in inboxes. But that doesn’t really answer the question of why a 2nd adult is necessary.

No one-on-one contact. I’m sure it errs on the conservative side at times.

Obviously, but new messaging system automatically adds a parent. That answers the one-to-one contact. It’s unnecessary to have another adult added. This seems like a coding error.

@AudreyReed - this may provide sone information and context

It is intentionally conservative.

The article focuses on social media and only gives one reference to email communication where it says to include “ONE ore more” authorized adults. The parent who is a leader more than satisfies that. I realize by the responses that this isn’t seen as an issue but it still seems like an unnecessary step. In this example the parent is also a leader. That should be more than sufficient and exactly the right way to do it.

Like I said, it is intentionally conservative. The more complex the logic, the more likely a bug creates a gap in the protection.

@AudreyReed

There is an open story to correct issues with needing to add additional leaders.
