I concur, BSA please re-instate the old Calendar until you have worked out the bugs in the new Calendar. I recognize the BSA will probably not due so, but I along with every other volunteer leader will remind BSA that once again you have made our volunteer job harder and in doing so have damaged the trust we leaders have in BSA to enhance the scouting experience. It would have made more sense to roll this out in the middle of the summer and work through the bugs. You have my opinion on the matter, which I am sure you will respond in the typical defensive response instead of seeing the big picture. Over time fewer volunteers will stick around and fewer families will look to participate in Scouting.
@DavidAdams5 - i dont recall authorizing you to speak on my behalf. A bit overly dramatic i dare say for a calendar change.
The old calendar is not coming back. The new calendar has been available for any unit to use since December. The people that monitor the forums are NOT BSA employees. We are volunteers ourselves. The way to provide feedback directly to the BSA is via your Council professional staff.
@edavignon FYI , I found the work around. Please let everyone know you can manually send Event Messages in Scout Book. This resolve much of the pain.
@DavidAdams5 that is part of the feature assistant extension.
Drew Morton,
I agree completely with you.
The old version worked well, that is why it needed to be changed!
We have said MANY times, the legacy Scoutbook must be retired. It is written in old, unsupported technology. It also cannot scale any further to meet demand. This is why on Monday nights, the system slows down.
