"Another user is using the same email address" while unexpected

Hi, I am having a message pop up that says another user is using the same email address, This is unexpected. I think a leader tried to add me as an MBC to their troop and may have caused this. My primary position is in the MCC with BSA ID (removed by Moderator). District not responding to request for help. Thanks!

@AnouckGirard - do you have any youth in scouting ?

Yes, my son and daughter (removed by Moderator). I am on both committees.

@AnouckGirard I have removed the second Scoutbook account.

Please contact your local council and ask them to use their Registrar Tools to look up your child with first initial “M.” In the “Relationships” tab / section, they need to remove you as parent under your secondary BSA member ID number: the one ending in -539. You should only be listed as parent under your primary BSA member ID number: the one ending in -692. This will help to prevent future issues.

Thank you, this solved it

@AnouckGirard Please follow up with your local council. Otherwise, it is likely that a duplicate Scoutbook account will be created again.

I will try, but I have already emailed them several times about this (at the district level; I could try at the council level), and responses are not forthcoming. Thank you for fixing it at least temporarily!

This something that can only be fixed with the registrar tools, so it would (at best) be someone at district passing the request along to someone at council. It’s more likely to work out if you reach out directly to your council registrar with the detailed information that Jennifer provided about what they need to fix.

I’d suspect that you may have more luck with this request since you are telling them exactly what they need to do instead of telling them the symptoms.

It looks like the local council has fixed the parent / child relationships already.
