We have an adult leader in Green Mountain Council -592 in Troop 6110G
Initials are LMB - goes by her middle name.
We see this should be her main BSA ID140215502 but she has another BSA ID.
Can you merge them and have this one listed above be her primary BSA ID. Or see what the issue is and help us out? Thank you
@WilliamKett One issue is that she has 2 usernames (logins) at my.Scouting.
Does she want to keep the one that ends in a number? Or the other one?
The user id ending in 7 is what they want as their login.
@WilliamKett That is fixed. Next issues:
-
She has a different e-mail at my.Scouting vs. Scoutbook. Which e-mail does she want to keep (hotmail or gmail)?
-
She should contact the local council and ask them to use their Registrar Tools to look up her child (or children). In the “Relationships” tab / section, they should remove her as parent under her secondary BSA member ID number: 140151203. Then they should add her as parent under her primary BSA member ID number: 140215502.
- I would also recommend that she contact the local council and ask them to correct her name (to add her first name).
Thank you - I will check and get back with you!!!
please update her email to have gmail be the primary email for both scoutbook and my.scouting.
I will work with our council staff (very limited) in updating the child (children) under her primary BSA ID. I wish i had the access to fix many of these issues but our SE says this is only for professional scouting staff.
Thank you so much!
@WilliamKett This is completed.
Yes, if the parent / child “relationships” don’t get updated (using Registrar Tools), then a duplicate Scoutbook account is likely to get created when the child’s membership gets renewed or the child’s unit recharters.
Hi @JenniferOlinger - I think I am experiencing a similar issue as the user WilliamKett mentioned. I receive a notice upon login that I have an account using the same email. Could you help me resolve it? I have a my.scouting account that has been functioning fine. I am in Flint River Georgia Council. Thanks for any help you can offer.
@TaylorKeddington that is fixed - I recommend that They contact your local council and ask them to use the Registrar Tools to look up the children. When they look up the children, they want to check children’s “User Relationship” and make sure that children are connected to parent with Only the correct BSA member ID number 141088544
I’m getting the same warning message. How do I resolve it?
Thanks
@KatyBertucci the email was just applied to you Scouts Account - I Cleared it out
I am getting the same warning message as well. Can I get the same fix?
@TheresaNewton I am checking.
@TheresaNewton Your Scoutbook accounts have been merged.
I have a similar issue with a family where both the mom and dad now have duplicate IDs. Should I post that on here for help, or contact my local office to use the Registrar Tool?
Post their BSA Member IDs here (no names) and will will investigate.
Ok for the mom, she’s registered as an ASM with Troop 3444. BSA ID 140785147.
Her son is connected to two different accounts for her, it appears. One has a phone number (keep) and one does not (toss).
I think I just deleted the Dad’s extra account OK.
@DanielDye I am checking.
The mom had multiple issues. I have fixed most of them.
Please contact the local council and ask them to use their Registrar Tools to look up her children. In the “Relationships” tab / section, they need to double-check that she is listed as parent only under her primary BSA member ID: 140785147. They should remove her if listed as parent under any of her secondary BSA member ID numbers. This will help to prevent future issues.
For the dad, I only found one BSA member ID for him, and it is in a different council.
