Can't assign merit badges to new counselor

I have two new merit badge counselors but I have no way to add their approved merit badges. It appears there is no equivalent of the SB MBC upload. They have no merit badges assigned yet and do not appear in the Scoutbook Plus MB Counselors list, I assume because they have no merit badges. There is no longer a way, or I can not find, a way to look them up by name. When I have adds and drops, I can find the counselor in the Scoutbook Plus MB Counselors list and click EDIT to add or drop merit badges. If a MBC is not on the list, I can not EDIT them.

I am a SB Admin and am registered as the Council Advancement Chair. I have for years administered the council’s merit badge counselor list. This problem has occurred because of the changes of moving merit badge counselor information from Scoutbook Legacy to Scoutbook Plus.

The two counselors this week are BSA ID 121719178 and 13745435.

Also, the Scoutbook Plus MB Counselor list is ordered very strangely, making it very difficult to find a specific merit badge counselor. It looks like maybe a page of people (100 or whatever is selected) in order by full first name. then ordered for display on the page by nickname. It would be much more useful to alphabetize by last name then first name like other lists.

Since I’m just an ASM, I can’t test it out. However, one of the SUAC volunteers may be able to explain further.

That only works if the merit badge counselor appears on that list. Apparently merit badge counselors that do not yet have any merit badges do not appear on the list and thus can not have merit badges added. At least I am assuming that is why the two specified merit badge counselors do not appear on the list. They are on the council roster as merit badge counselors, so I know they have gotten registered.

@ThomasStalnaker Currently, you can only manage merit badge counselors who already have badges assigned to them with Scoutbook Plus. If they are a new merit badge counselor the Registrar must assign at least one badge to them with Registrar Tools. They can now do this immediately upon registration as a MBC.

We have asked for a way to manage MBCs with no badges with SB+, but for now, the Registrar has to do at least one badge.
