How do I create a permission slip?

Sorry about that. Got interrupted and forgot to post the screenshot.

I’ve tried my desktop and my iphone. I don’t use chrome so I’ll try switching browsers.

@AllonaMetcalf are you sure permission slips are saved on? Sorry for the basic question but that is where we need to start

@AllonaMetcalf ok you are DL - I see the issue

In the attached image, it shows a “Permission Slip(s) for my family only” checkbox. Our Troop used to see this checkbox for families, so that they could just print their scout’s pre-filled permission slips instead of downloading every scout in the troop’s permission slips. It is no longer showing in Scoutbook Plus.

How do we get the ‘Permission Slip(s) for my family only’ checkbox back in Scoutbook?

Thank you.

@JustinKinch I see that checkbox when I log in as myself. I do not see that checkbox when I log in as a parent only, but clicking the button only generates the permission slip for my child.

I am curious what the point of the Permission Slip button is if parents cannot utilize it. I figure it would be to prefill permission slips for families to print and turn in. Is it possible to add that functionality?

@JustinKinch - that is what the button does… click on it and it fills out the permission slip.

With the tickbox unchecked, the system generates (or at least used to) permission slips for everyone in the unit, assuming it’s used by a registered scouter with the appropriate permissions.

With the tickbox checked, the registered scouter only gets the permission slip(s) for their family.

For “just parents” the button should be present and should only generate their family’s permission slip(s). They have no need for the tickbox, since they don’t have access (or need) to create permission slips for more than just their own family.

I will clarify:

  • When viewing Scoutbook Plus as a Parent / Guardian there is no option for Permission Slips at all.
  • When viewing Scoutbook Plus as a Council Member or as a Key 3 Delegate, there is an option for Permission Slips BUT the checkbox for “Permission Slip(s) for my family only.” no longer exists.

Is this something wrong with the settings on our Scoutbook Plus account, OR is it an error with the site?

Thanks in advance for any information you can provide.

@JustinKinch - this is what I see both as a unit k3 and when i select parent role in scoutbook plus:

Several things are key here

  1. The event having the permission slip box checked
  2. The leader actually having youth in said unit.
  3. If viewing other units as a council member those other units using the check box.

Yes, this is clearly a glitch. I have checked Scoutbook using my scout’s account, my Council account, my parent account, and another parents’ account. All have the "Troop 282 Permission Slip" button, but none have the “for my family only” checkbox option. Families should not have to download 60+ pages of Permission Slips and dig through them to find their scout for every outing.

Anyone know would I forward Scoutbook bugs & issues to?

Thanks.

@JustinKinch This is sufficient to report the bug. Could you provide the event date, time, and name that you are having this issue with?

We are not seeing the checkbox appear for any outings any longer. A few of our Troop outings:
1/11/25 10:00am - 7:00pm ; XC Ski Day Hike
1/24/25 1/25/25 7:00pm - 8:00pm; Klondike Derby!
2/1/25 10:00am - 6:00pm : Day Hike Lake Easton

Thank you!
-Justin

Are those events for the boys troop, girls troop, or both?

When you click from a parent or scout account - does the whole troops’ download or just the one scouts?

The activities are in both the girls and boys calendars.

When using a Parent/Guardian dropdown, no permission slips show up at all.

When using the Committee Member dropdown or the Key 3 Delegate dropdown, only the whole troop Permission Slip download is available.

We no longer see the checkbox for ‘your my family only’ at all under any login.
