I’m seeing that Report Builder CSV exports now include full HTML markup inside the cells. Every advancement status is wrapped in an <a> tag instead of being plain text. For example, a cell that should just say “Approved” is coming through as an HTML link with classes and a URL.
The result is that the CSV isn’t really a CSV anymore, it’s the raw HTML table copied into a comma‑separated file. This makes the data difficult to use in spreadsheets or reporting tools unless you strip all the tags first.
This didn’t used to be the case, and I haven’t seen any announcement about a change.
Are other units seeing the same behavior? Is this an intentional update or a bug? Any official guidance or workaround would be helpful.
@JamesMayled yes this has already been reported - watch the change logs
@JamesMayled do you have an REF# of the Report? and what are you viewing the CSV in?
ReportID=2198427. Importing the csv into Power Query but can see the markup in Notepad.
@JamesMayled - when the screen version of the report generates there is a ref number at the very bottom
ref: PD-20260911150930-408716-794213
Are you getting things like
<a class=aa-link" href=“/mobile/dashboard/admin/advancement/rank.asp?RankID=1&ScoutUserID=14252079”>Not Started"
Yes that’s exactly what I’m seeing.
But it is Text editors? not Spreadsheet programs?
Yes I can see it in text editors but also my existing Excel Power Query queries are failing without adding extra code to strip out all the tags
@JamesMayled - please check the csv output again.
Despite the bug fix reported in September 15, 2026 Scoutbook Plus Updates - Report Builder, I’m still seeing this issue.

The HTML version of the report is pretty broken, too.
@RyanTashma - not see this on the troop or crew side. What are your selection options
@Stephen_Hornak I have all Scouts in one den selected.
FWIW, I saw this on the troop side yesterday when I ran a report on Horsemanship MB (ref: PD-20260925133811-628047-676811):

The less-than signs are from HTML anchor tags that appear in the CSV:

@RyanTashma - ah I see. I do the same on a MB report but i did clear those tags out using ctrl-f and replace all.
@Stephen_Hornak Ctrl-F was my work-around on the troop side, too.
But the Cub report is completely unusable. Trying to do some planning for 20+ AOLs who have varying degrees of attendance… and we’re dead in the water. Den Leaders are reverting to personal spreadsheets for tracking.
@RyanTashma - this will need to be reported. Personally the active web links are really not necessary and should be removed. That is the blue clickable items befoe pdf or csv export
@Stephen_Hornak That’s what I was trying to do here.
@DonovanMcNeil Issue remains even after being reported as fixed. Can you comment or escalate?
@RyanTashma - what I meant was to be reported to the dev team
@RyanTashma - in interim I suggest the advancement quick export
