in my.scouting.org under unit dashboard is a section for Roundtable attendance, as unit training chair for my pack i was unable to see it. but now as a Cubmaster I can. So 2 questions, why isn’t this something a unit training chair can see and update? and who can update this? even as Cubmaster i can see it but not make any changes.
@RobertWillhelm - first on the training chair i would suspect that there is no training code for roundtable. Second on the edits i would gather it is something for the district to enter. Best bet is reach out to them to gather information.
The RT Commissioner enters the attendance data for each RT. It is then displayed on Unit Dashboard and used for a RT attendance report.
what if there is no RT commissioner?
@RobertWillhelm that is a question for your District Executive/President/or commissioner - LOL and how you get a new position
well the district doesn’t have a functional committee yet.
Well I think that answers your question - structure is just not set up
The attendance needs to be entered by a commissioner. If no one does it, it will not show up. There is no option to “self report”.
seems like Unit Training Chair’s should be able to. For situations like this where the District committee isn’t fully functional, but Council is still putting on roundtables. Adult awards have roundtable attendance as a requirement, so this function of reporting should be easy both inputting and reporting.
Roundtable needs to be put on by commissioners and they have the ability to put in attendance. Like others have said, you’ll need to talk to your district / council to have this done.
The attendance is somewhat complex to not double count people as many are enrolled in different roles. The intent of this attendance is to understand what units are engaged and not in roundtable. This is a metric for roundtable effectiveness. Thus the attendance is not done by each unit.
The attendance is just by quantity as well from a particular unit, not by name. So, none of the reports would have who attended.
The prevention of double entry’s is not complex and one of most important parts of setting up a robust database system. Trying to be data driven on decision making makes no sense when you’re not collecting the data in a way that works. Not all councils have fully functional districts. My district only has members at large due to the way it was being handled in the rebuilding, of which I am one.
@RobertWillhelm your recourse would be to talk to your Council about them getting a change to the system
Based on my experience in my council I know that all administrative commissioners can enter roundtable attendance. We (my district) is currently looking for a roundtable commissioner for cubs and the DC has stepped in while the search continues; he has access to all of the administrative tasks that a roundtable commissioner would normally have access to.
Perhaps reach out to your DC to get your attendance recorded. Good luck.
