To plug a potential security hole, all HTML is stripped from the calendar descriptions when sent to an external calendar via an ics subscription. The icalendar standard does not intend to have html imbedded within the ics file. While some calendar programs chose to decode the html, others such as Apple’s Calendar just shows the raw html. By stripping the html from the ics file, all external calendars will display the calendar entries the same way and the potential security hole is fixed. Note: there may be a delay before the html is removed from existing calendar subscriptions.
