Calendar RSVP Report

@jacobfetzer, was the “multi-unit event” portion of the situation also included in the report to the devs?

Message:
The user does not have sufficient permissions to include all respondents.

They should be able to tell from the ref number.

I have a leader that is still having a problem downloading an RSVP list for a calendar event. Is this a know issue?

@MargaretBrown

There is an issue that is being investigated. It would be best if the leader posted here so we can gather more information and ask more questions if necessary

For example, we need the Ref: line from the report or error, if this is for a single unit event or multiple unit event and the leader’s Member ID.

A fix has been pushed to production. Please check if it is working for you now.

RSVP Report works again… however… many youth do not have parent with phone number showing up in the report, despite the fact they are clearly listed and available in the youth’s profile. We are a blended unit with both male and female troops and a crew. The venture crew members do not have parents listed in the report.

We need quick tools to filter the RSVP report, such as to show “Yes” only.

We would like ability to group by “unit” (B/G/Crew).

For adults attending outings, everyone needs their “emergency POC” listed where the youth have a parent listed. Its the adults for whom we need to get medical care in most cases.

Overall, the new “scoutbook plus” calendar feature is cumbersome and time consuming to use. User interface design was disregarded in many ways with its development. For example, after the event is finished, you go back in to edit to add camping nights, and it forces you to delete all the wording in the description saying its “too long of text.” Also - we need ability to put attachments on calendar events. Now, I have to send MULTIPLE emails, because send message feature only allows one attachment at a time too. So, for an event with multiple attachments, I have to send a meeting notice message, and and email for every attachment, sent in triplicate, because I cannot send a message to all three units at once!! This is not a complex feature. Please let me know if I need to add a new thread as this is off topic from RSVP report.

@DeeKivett - on the message system i have been able to send multiple attachments. If you have hhe files in the same directory folder you can attach multiple files.

Not sure what I was doing differently. I had both files in the same directory and tried selecting both to attach, and it would only allow one. That is in the message feature. The event would not allow any attachments at all. It is also very very time consuming to have to cut and paste messages to three separate units over and over each time.

There could be so many tiny things like this that would be such great improvements.

Scouting America has stated separate units will remain separate in Scoutbook and Scoutbook Plus. If you have the the volunteer written and supported Feature Assistant Extension for Scoutbook for Chrome and Firefox there is an option to keep the text after sending a message so you do not have to copy it between units.

Calendar reminders do not support sending attachments because that would require providing cloud storage which is very expensive for an enterprise system like Scoutbook. I will put in a request to allow attachements to be added only to Send ASAP messages since those would not need to be stored.

Thank you for this update on the cloud storage issue. Sending them with the first send asap message would be a great solution!

As for sending emails to multiple units at once… I still think this is an opportunity for improvement. If the calendar events allow choosing multiple units, why can’t the message feature do the same?

Thanks for the help!

The messaging feature is implemented in the classic Scoutbook back-end, and they’re not implementing new features in Scoutbook (as far as I can tell from what’s been posted here generally). It might be added as an option when messaging is released on the SB+ platform, but Scouting America doesn’t publish a planned feature list, so all we know is that the plan is to eventually move all support and features to the new (SB+) platform in some form.

You need to use the multi-select by holding Shift or Ctrl.

Got it thanks it worked.

Now… back to the original thread on RSVP…

Does anyone know why some youth show up with no parent listed? Other youth showing up in duplicate? List is not even in alphabetical order just a hot mess.

@DeeKivett - would some of the missing adults leaders in the unit(s) in some way shape or form?

@DeeKivett

Since you are working with a troop in the pilot, you must report your RSVP issues via your Council. Scouting America has stated all pilot troop issues must take this path. The SUAC is not permitted to report issues with pilot troops.

If you have a crew only event that is not showing parents on the rsvp report we can report that to the developers. We need the ref number at the bottom of the report.

What do you mean by a pilot?? I am not a pilot troop.

We are three separate units under one charter org. We frequently do events together and create events that show up on all three calenders.

That line is what makes people think you are a pilot unit

Ok sorry for the confusion… we are three distinct units that share a charter org and committee. Each roster is separate. It is a pain to have to do all communication in triplicate!

Yes… but those leaders are not always on the same outings as their youth.
