Calendar RSVP Report

I’m having trouble with the RSVP report for a calendar event.

  1. When I run the report, there is an alert at the top that says “The user does not have sufficient permissions to include all respondents.” What does that mean?
  2. Several registered unit members who have an RSVP status of Yes/Confirm (green circle) appear on the report with an RSVP status of Maybe. In some cases they also show a parent RSVP status of Maybe where the parent has also RSVP’s Yes/Confirm.
  3. All external guests appear with an RSVP status of Maybe, despite having a status of Yes/Confirm.
  4. The “Total” row at the bottom only counts the external guests as 1, despite there being 6.

I’m sure it’s likely that these issues are do to ongoing development, but I wanted to provide useful feedback. Let me know if you want me to re-test. Thank you for the work you are doing to provide these features. Being able to print a complete roster for an event that includes external guests will be very nice when it works properly.

@JonathanMcMillan at the bottom of the report is a REF# - -post that number

Continuing the discussion from Calendar RSVP Report:

RSVP reports worked before. As of today, they do not. What happened? We desperately need this feature. Please alert of there is some bug we should know about, but it worked fine before. How do we get help for these things? Is there no help desk for Scoutbook or Scoutbook plus?

@DeeKivett - the report runs for me.

All help for Scoutbook, Scoutbook Plus and all other Scouting America tools is via the forums or your local council.

What specific issue are you having with the report?

See the prior thread I linked to. My issue is the same. It tells me “user not authorized” but I am the primary troop admin, key 3, and it gives scoutmaster the same error message when we try to run rsvp report.

What’s the reference number at the bottom of your report?

REF: PD-20250720172837-873011-581713

In Scoutbook plus, when you visit the event page as per below illustration, here is the location I am in to request the “rsvp report”

The error message has CHANGED now… and it does give a REF number now, it did not earlier today and the language is different.

I have reported this to the developers.

Thank you. Please let them know that I am happy to work with them on debugging. I have used Scoutbook for many years, long before BSA adopted the platform as its primary tool. I can beta test whatever they may need help with. There are many glitches recently. This one was solidly obvious.

I will create separate threads for the other issues.

Like @DeeKivett, I’m also available if devs need someone to test with.

Running into a similar issue with two units I’m a leader for. Here are the report IDs:

@LaddKettren

DeeKivit has reported 2 different errors. What error(s) are you seeing?

I am getting the error regarding insufficient permissions to include all respondents.

It appears the issue is relating to permissions. We have had problems in the past with scoutbook not allowing anyone to edit an event but the person who created it. This is a terrible idea, as nobody is invincible. At any time another leader may need to step in and take over the editing of an event posting. It has in the past blocked us from editing events unless we were the creator. That appears to be fixed for the current time, but now this issue with the RSVP report not working is brand new.

Are any of these multi-unit events? For those, I believe the individual editing the events must have that authority in all invited units. If so, I wonder if that propagated to reporting for multi-unit events.

I have authority in both our Troop B and Troop G as Committee Chair, and I created the event, but I also cannot run an RSVP report.

“The user does not have sufficient permissions to include all respondents.”

That’s good data, @KarenSchumpp.

Is everyone else in the same situation relative to their event being a multi-unit event? It looks like that for @DeeKivett’s screenshot. That might be the key issue to identifying the underlying bug, if so.

Yes they are all multi unit events, and yes, those of us trying to edit are “troop admin” in all three units.
