Welcome! This forum has a treasure trove of great info – Scouters helping Scouters! Just a heads up, though - all content, information, and opinions shared on this forum are those of the author, not the BSA.
Hi I am an advancement chair and I recently experience an issue with scoutbook plus.
Since Feb 2026, I can’t log in any activities - service hours, camp nights etc.
My workflow is to select the scout names –> record activities –> choose from service hours etc. –> create activities
But after I enter everthing, the “record and finish” button is not clickable.
The other service chair in our troop had the same issue. We are able to approve ranks and MBs.
Our troop did recently change from seperate boys + girls to a family troop, not sure whether that’s related.
@HuiQu - you do not have the Advancement Chair Position for Troop 606. If Key3 want you to have it they can extend that functional position to you in SB+ or in my.scouting.org.
As a Committee Member (or even a UAC) you would not have access to Activities unless that was extended to you. You unit has given you other permissions, but they did not give you Activities permissions. If they wish to, the Key 3 would need to take action to do that.
A major focus of the migration to Scoutbook Plus is to have positions mirror the positions shown in My.Scouting to ensure positions were reflected accurately in both platforms. The main purpose it to honor the guidance of our charter organizations and the positions they approve. Therefore, Scoutbook Plus does not use Legacy Scoutbook positions. Registered positions are used to provide base permissions. Some additional permissions can be added by the unit, however, there are restrictions on what can be given. See the updated Scoutbook_Permissions.pdf and the Scoutbook Plus permissions video for more details.
Also, if I hover my mouse over the “# more positions” in the drop-down, I can see what the other positions are. You have to be right over the “# more positions” part though, not just over the drop-down.
