Scoutbook Plus- Activities/Community Service Hours/Attendance

At one point I was able to record activities, community service hours and take attendance at meetings but for some reason it is no longer allowing me to do so. Help! Thank you in advance!

@LoganWorthington Permissions to things have changed - have Key3 review this - A major focus of the migration to Scoutbook Plus is to have positions mirror the positions shown in My.Scouting to ensure positions were reflected accurately in both platforms. The main purpose it to honor the guidance of our charter organizations and the positions they approve. Therefore, Scoutbook Plus does not use Legacy Scoutbook positions. Registered positions are used to provide base permissions. Some additional permissions can be added by the unit, however, there are restrictions on what can be given. See Scoutbook_Permissions.pdf and the Scoutbook Plus permissions video for more details.

I am the Unit Advancement Chair for 2 troops. Troop A allows me to update activity attendance. But Troop B I get NO DATA instead of having the dropdown roster which has always been there in the past.

I am been given permission by Key 3 in BOTH Troops. I have done a hard refresh for Troop B. what else do I need to do?

There are a couple of potential issues.

Specific to the roster, you may need to reset the filters in the roster because there was a change to the filters that added new filter options (which show up as “off” since there are no cached values for their state). On the right side at the top of the roster there’s a down arrow called “Show:Filtered”. On a computer, the page shows a red Reset Filters button. Have you tried pushing that reset button for Troop B? On mobile, there’s no reset button (or wasn’t when this first came up). I had to manually tick all of the “Renewal Status” boxes to get my roster to reappear on my phone.

The second possibility is that the two troops gave you different sets of permissions that are impacting what you have access to. When you say that you’ve been “given permision” are you talking about under the new permissions structure in SB+ or under classic Scoutbook? The classic Scoutbook roles and permissions no longer propagate out to SB+, as described in the blue banner announcement at the top of these forums. There’s been a lot of confusion in the wake of that change about permissions, which is the reason I’m making the distinction in asking the question.

Both Troops gave me permissions using Scoutbook Plus. Is there a way I can check permissions to make sure that Troop B gave me everything?

I went to Troop B roster filter and pushed the red reset button. I logged out and re-logged in but still get the no data dropdown message.

FYI I do not use mobile at all. I only do viewing and entry using my laptop.

@DianePierzinski

The ability for members to see their own permissions is still in development.

From what I can see, the G troop only made you a Unit Advancement Chair and gave you Profile Edit but did not give you the other permissions. The B troop gave you the necessary permissions to edit activities, approve and award advancement and edit the calendar.

Thank you. I contact Key 3 again and try to get the correct permissions. Have a good Thanksgiving holiday.
